Write for us
Urban Festival Review welcomes pitches that help readers notice how a festival and its city shape one another. Send proposals through the Contact page; an idea is not a commission, and we cannot promise publication.
What to pitch
We are interested in focused pieces about urban festival spaces, street life, event design, shared customs and the afterlife of gatherings. A strong pitch has a clear question, a defined subject and a reason it will interest readers beyond a single event.
Make the case
Tell us the proposed angle, the main points you would explore and what material or experience supports the piece. Separate what you know from what you would need to verify. Avoid broad claims about all festivals or cities, and do not send confidential or personal information.
Working together
Use the Contact page to send your proposal and select the editorial question option. Include any relevant writing samples in the message if you wish. We may ask follow-up questions before considering a piece; please do not treat silence as acceptance.
A festival is also a way of seeing the city
Urban Festival Review looks at the temporary city made by festivals: who gathers, how shared places are used, and what the event leaves in view.
