Urban Festival Review

Editorial policy

Urban Festival Review aims to be clear about what a piece says, how certain it is and whose interests it serves. Our coverage is editorial, not a promise that every festival or city works the same way.

Accuracy and care

We check factual claims against suitable material and distinguish description, interpretation and opinion. When an idea varies by place or event, we say so rather than making it sound universal. We do not invent sources, quotations or first-hand experience.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a commercial arrangement. Partners cannot buy a favourable editorial conclusion or control independent coverage.

Corrections

If a published piece contains a material error, we review the point and correct it where warranted. Readers can use the Contact page to identify the article and explain the concern; significant changes should be made clear in the piece.

Partners and illustrations

Paid, commissioned or otherwise partner-supported material is labelled so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where relevant, that is identified, and illustrations are not presented as documentary evidence.

Our point of view

A festival is also a way of seeing the city

Urban Festival Review looks at the temporary city made by festivals: who gathers, how shared places are used, and what the event leaves in view.
